Working with Wood

Where patience, skill and timber meet.

A close look at the people and traditions keeping fine woodworking alive.

Working with Wood is a series that takes viewers into the workshops of master craftsmen who keep traditional woodworking alive. Each episode focuses on a different maker - from furniture builders and woodturners to carvers and instrument makers - showing the patience, precision and years of experience that go into their craft.

Filmed in calm detail, the series captures the textures, sounds and rhythm of work that hasn’t changed much in generations. Chisels, saws and planes move with quiet confidence as each piece takes shape, guided by hands that know exactly what they’re doing.

More than a look at beautiful objects, it’s a portrait of skill passed down, of people who understand their materials and take pride in getting things right. Working with Wood reminds us that some of the best things in life are still made slowly, by hand.
